The responsible adult manages access and family choices.
Terms & Refunds
Clear rules for using Sage’s World.
These terms explain who may manage an account, what Free and Premium include, how the trial and renewal work, what happens after cancellation, which charges may qualify for a refund, and the limits of the service.
Effective: July 24, 2026
AI and Speech Coach are never required for core learning.
The account holder decides what leaves the family account.
Review, cancel, export, or request deletion through supported controls.
1. Agreement and service provider
These Terms & Refunds form an agreement between the adult who creates or uses a Sage’s World family account and Sage’s World, which is operated in Ontario, Canada by its founder, Phil.
By creating an account, starting a trial, purchasing a subscription, or using the service, the account holder agrees to these terms and the Privacy & Data policy. If the account holder does not agree, they should not create an account or use the service.
2. Adult-managed family accounts
A family account must be created and managed by an adult who has authority to make account, payment, and data choices for the learner profiles they create.
The account holder is responsible for:
- providing accurate account and billing information;
- protecting sign-in credentials, the Parent PIN, and devices;
- deciding what family content is appropriate to add;
- supervising learner use based on age, ability, safety, and consent;
- choosing age-respectful settings and managing progress-email preferences;
- ensuring they have authority to use photos, documents, recordings, and other content;
- reviewing optional AI and speech output before using or sharing it; and
- following applicable school, agency, employment, and professional rules.
A learner should not independently purchase a subscription, enable optional AI or Speech Coach, or submit sensitive information unless the responsible adult has made and supervised that choice.
3. What Sage’s World provides
Sage’s World is a family-managed learning and communication app that can include personalized learning games, custom words and photos, an AAC Talk Board, regular Read Aloud, visual schedules, social stories, goals, routines, chores, rewards, practice information, adult observations, optional progress emails, family reports, and optional adult AI and speech tools.
Features can differ by platform, browser, device, country, language, plan, account state, or beta availability. Internet access is required for account sync and some optional services.
Educational and clinical limits
Sage’s World supports practice, reflection, and family or team conversation. It is not a standardized assessment, diagnostic tool, medical or clinical service, individualized AAC assessment, teacher, therapist, legal advisor, school record system, professional case-management platform, or emergency service. It does not guarantee a learning, communication, behaviour, independence, or generalization outcome.
Activity results, levels, trends, AI responses, reports, and Speech Coach feedback must be interpreted in context. They should not be used alone for diagnosis, placement, eligibility, grading, treatment, restraint, discipline, or access to essential needs.
4. Accounts and security
The account holder must keep credentials confidential and notify Sage’s World through the Contact page if they suspect unauthorized access.
The account holder may not share an account to defeat plan or security limits, access another family’s data without permission, bypass safety or consent controls, introduce malware, overload or disrupt the service, or use Sage’s World for unlawful surveillance, exploitation, discrimination, or harm.
Sage’s World may require a password reset, revoke a session, limit an abusive request, or suspend access when reasonably needed to protect learners, families, providers, or the service.
5. Family content and permission to operate the service
The account holder keeps ownership of family content they are entitled to use, such as custom words, photos, stories, schedules, notes, selected documents, and recordings submitted to a requested feature.
The account holder gives Sage’s World a limited, non-exclusive permission to host, process, transmit, display, copy, back up, and format that content only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the requested service in accordance with Privacy & Data.
The account holder confirms that they have the rights and authority needed to add the content and that doing so does not violate another person’s privacy, copyright, confidentiality, school record, health record, court order, or other legal obligation. Do not add illegal, exploitative, threatening, hateful, sexually abusive, or harmful content, and do not submit more personal information than a feature requires.
6. Free plan
The current Free plan costs $0 and includes:
- all 18 child-facing learning games;
- all 30 levels in every leveled game;
- one active synced learner profile;
- adaptive teaching;
- Focus Mode, Today’s Practice, and Gentle day;
- Auto, Childlike, and Teen & adult content modes;
- the learner comfort button when enabled by the adult;
- the AAC Talk Board and regular Read Aloud;
- custom words and photos;
- social stories and visual schedules;
- Store Lite with one reward;
- basic chores with one category and up to three chores;
- an optional progress summary for an eligible signed-in family account; and
- no advertising.
Free is not a time-limited demo. It does not include every Premium adult tool or capacity.
7. Premium plan
Premium currently costs $5 CAD per month or $50 CAD per year, plus applicable taxes. The purchase screen controls the final price, billing frequency, tax, currency, and purchase channel shown before payment is confirmed.
Premium currently adds:
- capacity for up to 10 retained learner profiles;
- grade-band context and growth trends;
- a printable IEP-team report;
- the full chores and rewards experience;
- the web-only Speech Coach beta, with about 10 coached minutes per family per month;
- up to 100 AI Teacher’s Assistant questions per month; and
- up to 5 AI IEP reads per month.
A clearly labelled fictional sample report may be shown before a trial begins. Viewing it does not create a real report, start a trial, or establish that the report is appropriate for a particular learner.
Usage allowances are family-level monthly limits, not guaranteed service capacity. They can also be limited by safety, technical, provider, fair-use, or abuse controls. Unused allowances do not roll over unless the product expressly says otherwise. Premium does not create a school, agency, educator, or professional account.
8. 30-day Premium trial
The trial does not start at account creation, email verification, or ordinary sign-in. It begins only when an eligible adult selects Start my free 30-day trial in Plan & billing.
The current trial lasts 30 days, requires no payment card, cannot automatically convert to a paid subscription, and returns the account to Free when it ends unless the account holder chooses a paid plan. Ending the trial does not delete learning data, subject to the profile-capacity and deletion rules below.
An account is limited to the eligibility rules enforced by the app. Sage’s World may refuse repeated, fraudulent, or abusive trial creation.
9. Optional progress summary email
An eligible signed-in family account currently has a progress-summary setting that is on until the adult turns it off or unsubscribes. The message is sent near the start of the month through Resend and summarizes recent practice for the first six profiles using up to about 21 days of daily records. It is not a complete calendar-month report, formal assessment, attendance record, or guarantee of progress.
The adult can change the setting in the app, request a preview to the account email, or use the unsubscribe link in an email. Privacy & Data explains the content and provider flow.
10. Billing, renewal, cancellation, and downgrade
A paid subscription begins only when the adult account holder completes checkout. Direct website purchases are processed by Stripe. Where Google Play billing is offered, Google Play processes that purchase. Sage’s World does not store full payment card numbers.
A paid subscription renews monthly or annually until cancelled, unless the purchase screen or applicable law provides otherwise. The account holder authorizes the selected provider or marketplace to charge the disclosed price and applicable taxes at each renewal.
The account holder may cancel renewal at any time through the purchase channel or the Plan & billing control in the app. Cancellation stops future renewal, and paid access normally continues until the end of the paid period. If payment fails, Premium may be limited or returned to Free after any required notice or retry period.
When an account returns to Free, the Free profile capacity applies. Extra profiles remain retained but are not active under the Free capacity. Resubscribing can make them available again. The account holder can use supported export or deletion controls, but the current product does not describe those retained profiles as a formal archive with a guaranteed archive period.
11. Refund policy
For a subscription purchased directly from Sage’s World, the account holder is eligible for a full refund when the charge was accidental, duplicated, or occurred after a valid cancellation; the request is made within 30 days of the charge; and Sage’s World can verify the transaction and qualifying reason.
Use the Contact page, choose the subscription or refund topic, and include the account email, purchase date, amount, transaction or invoice reference, and a brief description of the issue. Never send a full payment card number.
Approved refunds are returned through the original payment route when possible. Bank and marketplace processing times are outside Sage’s World’s control. A Google Play or other marketplace purchase may also require a request through that marketplace, whose payment and refund rules apply. Nothing here limits a non-waivable consumer right or remedy.
12. AI Teacher’s Assistant and AI IEP Reader
Premium AI tools are optional and adult-facing. A child does not chat directly with the AI provider. Manual setup and every core learning activity work without AI.
Requests are forwarded through a Sage’s World serverless function to Anthropic’s commercial Messages API. Sage’s World does not deliberately persist raw prompts, raw provider responses, or source IEP pages in the family profile. Fields an adult chooses to apply from an IEP suggestion can be stored locally and may sync. Usage, entitlement, security, and error information may be processed to operate and protect the feature.
AI can generate incorrect, incomplete, outdated, biased, or unsuitable content. The account holder must remove unnecessary identifiers, submit only content they have authority to use, review every response, verify official information against its source, and avoid using AI as the sole basis for a high-impact decision.
The IEP Reader does not modify, approve, create, or legally interpret an official IEP. The Teacher’s Assistant does not replace a teacher, clinician, or other professional.
13. Speech Coach beta
Speech Coach is an optional, web-only Premium beta that can require a supported browser, microphone permission, internet access, adult consent, remaining allowance, a compatible activity, Microsoft Azure availability, and shared service capacity. Regular Read Aloud remains part of Free.
When selected, the browser sends a short final passing Read Aloud clip and reference text directly to Microsoft Azure Speech Pronunciation Assessment. The Sage’s World backend does not receive or store the raw audio. Sage’s World stores consent, attempt and usage counts, and derived rolling per-phoneme summaries. Those summaries can be stored locally, may sync, and can be included in supported backups. Raw clips and recognized transcripts are not stored or synced by Sage’s World.
Speech Coach never changes the learner’s pass or fail result. It can be inaccurate because of voice, speech pattern, accent, language, environment, microphone, device, or provider limitations. It is not a speech assessment, diagnosis, therapy, or clinical service.
14. Sharing with educators and support teams
The account holder may choose to share observations, reports, or selected content with an educator, clinician, support worker, or agency. Sage’s World does not control what a recipient does after receiving it. The account holder and recipient are responsible for consent, secure transfer, local policy, professional standards, and records obligations.
Sage’s World outputs are family-generated contextual information. They are not certified school, health, clinical, or legal records unless a responsible organization independently decides and documents otherwise.
15. Acceptable use and learner dignity
The service must be used in a way that respects safety, autonomy, communication, and dignity.
Do not use Sage’s World to punish, shame, threaten, coerce, or humiliate a learner; deny an essential need based on app performance; override refusal or communication without lawful and ethical justification; create abusive or discriminatory content; impersonate someone; misrepresent an official assessment; or make an automated high-impact decision about education, care, eligibility, discipline, or treatment.
Rewards and chores should be used thoughtfully and never as a condition for food, water, toileting, communication, movement, medication, safety, or another basic right or essential support.
16. Availability, beta features, and intellectual property
Sage’s World may maintain, update, improve, limit, or discontinue features. The service may be temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, outages, device limitations, connectivity, security work, providers, or events outside reasonable control. Beta features may be incomplete, less reliable, change quickly, or be removed.
Sage’s World and its licensors own the app, website, software, design, trademarks, original content, and related intellectual property, excluding family content and third-party material. The account holder receives a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the service for lawful family learning and support purposes. Third-party images, software, fonts, libraries, and services remain subject to their own licences and terms.
17. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sage’s World is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Sage’s World does not promise uninterrupted access, error-free operation, compatibility with every device, permanent availability of a provider feature, or a particular learning, communication, speech, clinical, or developmental result.
Families should keep appropriate backups and use Sage’s World alongside, not instead of, qualified support and their own knowledge of the learner. Do not use it for emergencies or as the only source of a safety-critical decision.
To the maximum extent permitted by Ontario law, Sage’s World is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of the service. Total liability for a paid claim is limited to the amount the claimant paid Sage’s World during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liability that cannot legally be limited.
18. Suspension and ending use
Sage’s World may limit, suspend, or terminate an account when reasonably needed to protect a learner, family, another person, or the service; investigate unauthorized access, fraud, abuse, or unlawful use; enforce these terms; comply with law or a provider requirement; or address non-payment after applicable notice.
When appropriate, Sage’s World will provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to correct the issue. Immediate action may be required for security, exploitation, or serious harm. The account holder may stop using the service, cancel renewal, and request account deletion. Payment, ownership, dispute, security, and lawful-retention provisions can continue after use ends.
19. Governing law, changes, and contact
These terms are intended to be governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without excluding mandatory consumer protections that apply where the account holder lives.
Sage’s World may update these terms to reflect product, provider, business, or legal changes. The page will show the effective date, and material changes will be made reasonably clear before they take effect when required.
Before beginning a formal dispute, contact Sage’s World through the private Contact form with enough non-sensitive information to understand the issue. Choose the terms, billing, refund, or privacy topic that best fits the question.

Questions should be easy to ask
Contact Sage’s World when a term is unclear.
Use the private contact form before purchasing or using an optional feature. Please leave learner, school, health, password, and payment-card details out of the first message.
